Description
Cute pair of Vintage Creative Kokeshi - parent and child. Each piece is turned with two pieces of wood so that the head sits within a gumnut style body. With simple facial details, only changing in expression with the eyebrows hint at expression. The faint green ombre wash on the bodies accentuates the grain of the turned timber, particularly on the larger of the two kokeshi where a wavelike timber grain suggests a decorated garment. C1960's, 70's. Wear consintent with age and includes scuff marks to top of the head as per photos. The larger doll is stamped on the base.
