A rare and unusual example of a Japanese Karuma Dansu, wheeled storage chest. From Akita. It has a black lacquer finish, on zelkova wood with cedar panelling and square iron handles and hardware. It has three small drawers at the top, and two sliding central panels with storage space, and two larger drawers at the bottom. Meiji period, 19th century.
