Description

An antique Korean celadon glazed stoneware tea bowl from the 15th century. It has been lovingly repaired with gold, using the kintsugi method, sometime during its long life, adding an extra layer of beauty and value. Kintsugi literally means "golden seams" and is a Japanese method of repairing ceramics using gold powder and lacquer. There is a simple botantical motif sanggam inlay on both the interior and exterior. The interior has a decorative band around the rim. The bowl is ever so slightly misshapen, lending the appearance a delicate wabi sabi beauty.

Dimensions:

19cm diameter

8cm high
