Description

Contemporary Japanese ceramic vase by Nakashima Yasushi. The vase is hand built in an organic form, with dripping glaze reminiscent of a waterfall.

Nakashima Yasushi (1938-2017) was born in Hyogo prefecture and graduated from the Kyoto Municipal University of Art in 1962. He has exhibited widely and has been awarded prizes at the National Traditional Craft Exhibition, National Modern Ceramic Exhibition and the Shigaraki Ceramics Exhibition. Yasushi's art practise is based in ceramics and glass, however he has also had a successful design career in lighting design at Nisshin Denki.
