The ‘Princess of Wax’ leaves for not so distant shores:

Nicknamed the ‘Princess of Wax’, young New Zealand architect, Manju Bala (Balasubramaniam), worked at our warehouse in Hill St. Cremorne, as an apprentice restorer. Over the last five or six years, in between work experience in an architecture practice in Sri Lanka and visits to NZ, she threw her energy and enthusiasm behind restoring, waxing and polishing Japanese furniture. The Kaidan dansu (staircase chest) pictured here was her piece de la resistance before she left to pursue her architecture career in New Zealand.
