A Japanese black lacquer suzuri bako, writing box with an motif of a bonsai in gold and silver maki e. The interior comes with writing utensils and is decorated with nashi ji lacquer and gilding. It comes with a paulownia wood storage box. There are minor signs of wear and tear in places, as you may expect from an antique. Edo period circa 1850.
