Description
Contemporary Japanese Oribe pottery vase by Usui Kazunari, with a geometric inlaid design of different types of clay, glazed in a translucent deep green tone characteristic of Oribe ware, provided in its original timber box.
Born in 1954 in Seto, Aichi prefecture, one of the biggest pottery production regions in Japan, Usui Kazunari focuses his craftworks on Oribe ware, which predominantly produced in either Gifu or Aich prefectures. He is a regular member of Japan Kogei Association and has won multiple awards in which his ceramics are recognised for their simple, elegant forms and geometric designs enhanced by deep green Oribe glaze.
