Description
An antique Japanese document box with an design of butterflies in gold and silver maki e, inlaid with mother of pearl. The butterflies are set against a patterned background with an interior decorated with nashi ji lacquer. The top has an embossed artist seal as pictured and the box comes with its original storage box. Meiji period, 19th century.
