An unusual Japanese Raku pottery tea bowl used for tea ceremony. As the Japanese proverb translates "First, comes Raku ware, second, Hagi and third, karatsu ware. " Raku pottery is considered the very best for tea ceremony and there are some that would say this is Raku ware's primary function is for serving matcha tea. It comes with an original paulownia wood box.
