Unusual Vintage Creative Kokeshi consisting of a simple section of wood with a side of it shaved off, revealing the rings of wood grain whic are further enhanced by brush work to indiate the hair. The half moon shaped face is serene with closed eyes and delicate lashes, pale rose blushing cheeck and faint red pursed lips. The stout column of the body is ornamented with hand-painted star shaped flowers in pink and deep red surrounded by green foliage. The artists signature is stamped on the base. By the same artist who made KDC18018 and would form a complementary piece for someone interested in collecting more sculputal Creative Kokeshi. The varnish on this Kokeshi is in good condition though the painted elemnst show some signs of age. The are some scuff marks and dents to the wood. Please see pictures for details.
