This traditional kokeshi doll originates from Sendai in Japan’s Tōhoku Prefecture, widely regarded as the original home of kokeshi making. Carved in the classic cylindrical form with a rounded head, the piece reflects the simplicity and warmth that define traditional kokeshi craftsmanship. Subtle hand-painted details and a restrained palette emphasise its folk-art character, while the balanced proportions give it a quiet, timeless presence. Both collectible and decorative, it represents an enduring symbol of regional Japanese craft heritage. Signed by it's creator.
The kokeshi measures approximately 11 cm in diameter and 23 cm in height.
