Contemporary painting by Lou Xiang.

Lou Xiang was born in Shanghai, China in 1955, and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Shanghai Teachers University in 1982.

He came to Melbourne, Australia in 1988. After many years of painting with brush and ink on paper, he is now broadening to acrylic on canvas and revelling in the freedom and exciting possibilities of colour in his work. From tube and brush Lou Xiang’s fluid, bold and dexterous strokes are alive now with bright, exciting colours as well.

His works are collected by the Singapore Art Museum, Australian Consulate in Shanghai, and the National Gallery of Victoria.
