Large Japanese porcelain striped studio bowl by Atsushi Miyanishi. This bowl has an original wooden box. A similar piece by the same artist is in the Smithsonian Institute National Museum of Asian art

1976 - Selected for the Ishikawa Prefectural Contemporary Art Exhibition
1977 - Selected for the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, and subsequently selected 13 times
1979 - Selected for the Chunichi International Ceramic Art Exhibition, and subsequently selected 5 times
1981 - "Utsuwa = (Utsuwa)" submitted to the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition
1982 - Received the Kawasaki Memorial Award for "A Jar with a View of the Sky" and the Encouragement Award
1985 - "Dimensional Boundary" submitted to the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition Winner of the New Ceramic Artist Award
1987 - Selected for the Traditional Crafts Exhibition seven times since then. Received the Kawasaki Memorial Award for his work "Blue Glazed Large Bowl" at the Asahi Ceramic Crafts Exhibition.
1987 - Received the Excellence Award for his work "Blue Glazed Carved Bowl" at the 10th Traditional Kutani Ware Crafts Exhibition.
1988 - Selected for the Japan Ceramic Crafts Exhibition twice since then. Received the Ishikawa Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
1988 - Received the Encouragement Award for his work "Blue Glazed Flower Vase" at the Ishikawa Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
1988 - Received the Encouragement Award for his work "Blue Glazed Large Bowl with Butterfly Design" at the Asahi Ceramic Crafts Exhibition.
1988 - Received the Kawasaki Memorial Award for his work "Blue Glazed Large Bowl with Feather Design" at the 50th Issui-kai Ceramic Arts Club Open Exhibition.
1990 - Received the Issui-kai Award for his work "Blue Glazed Large Bowl with Flying Fish Design." Recommended as a full member of the Japan Crafts Association.
1990 - Selected for the 1st Ceramic Biennale. Exhibited in the Asahi Ceramic Arts Exhibition's New Works by Selected Artists.
1990 - Exhibited in the 52nd Issui-kai Ceramic Arts Club Open Exhibition. Received an Honorable Mention Award for his "Blue Glazed Butterfly Vase"
1991- Received the Japan Crafts Association Encouragement Award at the 38th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition for his "Blue Glazed Deep Bowl with Line Design"
Recommended for membership at the 53rd Issuikai Ceramics Club Open Exhibition\1992 – Blue glazed flower line bowl. Exelence award (Hokkoku Shimbun President’s award) 33rd Ishikawa traditional arts exhibition.
Currently a similar bowl by the artist is in the Arthur M. Sackler Collection (Smithsonian Institute).
