A rare pair of Japanese medicine chests (kusuri-dansu), each beautifully crafted from paulownia wood and fitted with 50 small drawers originally used for storing herbs, medicines, and apothecary tools.
Dating to the Edo period (c.1850), these finely made chests exemplify precision joinery and thoughtful functional design. Their symmetrical drawer arrangement and warm timber tones make them as visually striking as they are historically significant.
Perfect as statement storage pieces or displayed together as a remarkable example of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
