This Chinese root display stand, known as a Dai, is carved from natural root wood and celebrates the organic, sculptural qualities of the material. Traditionally used for the display of scholar’s objects, flowers, or treasured items, the stand’s flowing, irregular form creates a dynamic and elevated presentation. Each piece is inherently unique, shaped by the natural growth of the root, making it both a functional display stand and an expressive work of folk art.
The stand measures approximately 68 cm by 40 cm, with a height of 26 cm.
