This authentic Chinese elm bench from Shanxi Province dates to the 19th century and exemplifies the quiet strength and utilitarian elegance of provincial Chinese furniture. Crafted with simplicity and durability in mind, it was designed for everyday use while possessing an enduring, understated beauty. The broad rectangular top and solid proportions give the bench remarkable versatility, allowing it to function equally well as seating, a side table, or a low display stand for treasured objects.
