A finely crafted Japanese two-drawer writing box, made from zelkova and cypress woods and accented with iron studs. Dating to the Edo period (c.1840), this box reflects the meticulous craftsmanship and understated elegance typical of 19th-century Japanese furniture.
Originally used for storing writing implements, documents, or personal items, the box combines practicality with decorative appeal. Its compact size makes it ideal for display or functional use in a modern interior, while the rich timber tones and iron detailing highlight its historical authenticity.
