Learn the art of Ikebana flower arranging!

Celebrate Autumn in all its glory by learning the traditional art of Ikebana.

On Sunday 15th March, award winning flower designer Shoso Shimbo will host an two hour long Ikebana workshop at Kazari + Ziguzagu.

Sip Japanese tea, while learning how to make a beautiful seasonal flower arrangement informed by a 500 year old tradition. Shoso Shimbo is of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana and will discuss the history and culture of Ikebana, as well as the basic principles.

Where: Kazari + Ziguzagu shop, 450 Malvern Road, Prahran VIC 3181

When: Sunday 15th March, 10.30-12.30pm

Cost: $85 per person

Provided:

- Japanese tea

- 20% discount on all Ikebana related products on the day

- All Ikebana tools and materials (vessels, kenzan and secateurs).

- Seasonal flowers to create an Ikebana masterpiece which is yours to take with you.

Shoso Shimbo PhD is a certified teacher of Ikebana and has over 20 years experience in Ikebana. Shoso was selected by Belle magazine as one of six “Australia’s top floral designers” and has won multiple awards including the Gold Award at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show. His works were selected for the prestigious publication, International Floral Art (Stichting Kunstboek)

Shoso has an MA in Japanese Studies, a Master of Fine Art and PhD in Education. He is also qualified as a garden designer. He is a director of the International Society of Ikebana Studies and he teaches Japanese Aesthetics: From Flower Arrangements to Contemporary Art at RMIT.

If you can't attend, please give 24 hours notice so your place can be offered to someone else.

Charges apply for storage beyond the initial period. You may also decide to use the Click and Collect service if you have an existing/preferred carrier for interstate and international shipping.

We can ship orders worldwide. Kazari + Ziguzagu uses competitive and reliable shipping services including but not limited to Auspost, DHL and local couriers and carriers, as well as art and antique specific interstate and international carriers.

Shipping can be added at checkout for Domestic deliveries (Australia).

Additional insurance may be required as standard insurance may not be sufficient to cover loss or damage of fragile or expensive items.
